Born and raised in San Diego, California Hannah grew up on the beach, surfing, and playing lacrosse/water polo for Coronado High School. Upon graduation she continued her athletic endeavors at UCLA winning one NCAA championship in 2009 and graduating with a degree in Spanish Community & Culture (a major unique to the university combining linguistics, history/anthropology, and community based studies). It was during her time there that friend, teammate, and now Sales Manager Tanya Gandy introduced her to JOLYN! After college she competed one year in the División de Honor de España for CN La Latina Madrid and was able to put her studies to practice both in and outside of the pool!
Hannah served 3 years as the Director of Operations for Eco Surf Volunteers and coordinated volunteer educational efforts of US university students in Canoa Ecuador & Isla Isabella in the Galapagos Islands. Raising awareness and funds during the year, her summers were spent leading the project on site. A few of her other recent endeavors include exploring mainland Japan and Okinawa, backpacking Patagonia, and surf trips to local Baja California and Mexico. Hannah is always planning the next adventure and is sure to take her suits along for the ride. She is beyond stoked to be a part of the JOLYN team!
