I played Division 1 water polo at San Diego State University while getting my engineering degree. During my first year I unfortunately suffered a herniated disc which forced me to redshirt. Following my injury I played up until my senior year when I had a heart incident in the pool and was rushed to the hospital. After 40 days of tests we caught another episode on record, and they diagnosed me with SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia)
For those 40 days I was not allowed to work out, which crushed me. For the first time in my life I was completely inactive. So I sat on the sidelines and watched my team play and once I had the green light to start again I trained extra hard to make up for lost time. I made it back in time to win our conference championship!
I have been wearing Jolyn suits for years because they are they only suit that can handle the competitive and rough nature of the sport. They come in fun colors and the material lasts forever; even in chlorine.
Upon graduating I knew I needed something to keep my competitive fire going so I decided to pick up bodybuilding. I started this transformation in July of 2016 and I am an entirely new person (weight, shape and size; about 25+ pounds down!)
I will be competing with the goal of getting my professional body building card. This new sport is such a rush and I use my setback with SVT as extra motivation to succeed. I'm here to inspire others and teach them that if you set your mind to something and YOU are passionate about it, no obstacle can prevent you from reaching your goals.
