Courtney was born and raised in Redondo Beach in sunny Southern California. She's spent more time in a swimsuit than fully clothed since she can remember, from soup-sliding on the front of her dad's longboard as a toddler, to swim team, Jr. lifeguards, and surf team as a teenager, and becoming a Los Angeles County Lifeguard at 18. Courtney was on the swim team and rowing team for Loyola Marymount University, and spent her free time on the beach in a tower and competing in Surf Lifesaving races, Dory boat races, and distance paddle races through college. After earning an MBA, Courtney decided her calling was in teaching and coaching, and earned her credential to teach High School Math and coach High School Swimming - and continue to Lifeguard and coach Jr. Lifeguards during the summer months. Courtney met her husband - a Coast Guard Helicopter Pilot - at one of her lifeguard competitions, and followed him across the country to Jacksonville Beach, Fl where she began repping for her favorite swimsuit company -Jolyn!
